Ever heard of Jason Schwartzman? He's been in films such as Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, and Hotel Chavier (All works by Wes Andersen). His band, Coconut Records is his LA based Indie Pop solo project which began in 2006. The debut album, Nighttiming, was released on Schwartzman's Young Baby Records in 2007. The second album, Davy, was released January 20, 2009.
Jason Schwartzmen is the cousin of Sophia Coppolla, the infamous Copolla family. He is the Son of producer Jack Schwartzman and actress Talia Shire; Nephew of Francis Ford Coppola and cousin of Nicholas Cage.
He was the drummer for the band Phantom Planet when he was 14 years old. His music career continued in 2002 when he released a single with Evan dando and Ben Lee. Nighttiming has a few tracks featuring Kirtin Dunst, who adds to the cutsie factor.
Overall, I love the band, and their music is perfect for any mood. I listen to the album if I'm driving, longboarding, whatever. Give 'em a shot :)
